Graham Alexander was pleased with his side's response, following this afternoon's 2-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers.

The Bantams came into this afternoon’s clash having lost four on the bounce, but Alexander was proud of the Bantams' reaction at the University of Bradford Stadium.

The City chief had praise for his players following their win, stating it was a difficult opening 45 minutes, but in the second half, they showed what they can produce.

“Today was the perfect antidote to the last four games,” he said.

“From the players, to the staff, to the supporters, everyone has felt the pain of the last four results.

“Today was a big performance from the players, showing what we aspire to be. One game does not make us, but it was a glimpse into a possible future for us.

“It was a difficult first half, there were times where we had to be disciplined, but in the second half we showed what we can produce.

“We created some really good chances, and I am happy we took them. Bobby’s goal was a great strike and Cal’s goal was a great finish too.

“All credit to the players today, hopefully they showed that they care with that performance.”

The Bantams boss understands what responsibility his side hold to the fans, hoping this afternoon’s performance showed they care. He hopes the City faithful will continue to show their support down the final stretch of the season.

Alexander is now looking ahead to a quick turnaround for his side, when they visit Blundell Park on Easter Monday to face Grimsby Town, where he will be looking for a repeat of today's performance.

“We understand our responsibility as a team,” Alexander added.

“We have to give them, our supporters, something to support.

“Today tweey gave the supporters a real performance, put a smile on their face, at least until Monday, where we have to do it all over again.

“Hopefully, they will follow us on Monday. The challenge is to keep this consistency up. I am proud of the players today.

“The players are spent after today, but we have to go again and be ready for Monday.

“We have to show the same energy, the same determination. We have to keep our energy levels high.

“Maybe a few have to come out ahead of Monday. It will be harsh if anyone misses out. Everyone was superb today.”
