OYEGOKE HOPING FOR POSITIVE END TO SEASON

5 April 2024

Daniel Oyegoke hopes to finish his loan spell at City in a positive manner, picking up as many points as possible between now and the end of the season beginning when Gillingham visit the University of Bradford Stadium tomorrow.

It has been a turbulent campaign for the Brentford loanee, with a dislocated shoulder ruling him out for close to half the season in Graham Alexander's first game in charge.

But Oyegoke is keen to finish his spell with the Bantams positively to give back to the supporters who have backed him and the team this season.

“The boys and staff have worked hard this season,” he said.

“We want to pick up as many points as we can between now and the end of the season to thank the fans for their support.

“It is just about getting as many points as we can and performing as well as we can.

“The people that make up this club are fantastic.”

Oyegoke found his injury particularly frustrating given the fact his lower body was still fully mobile, but now he is back out on the pitch he is relishing the opportunity to play again.

“I am enjoying every game,” he added.

“When you have been out for so long, you just enjoy playing football again.

“I am enjoying every moment and hopefully we pick up more wins along the way.

“I have been getting excited again, like when I was a kid, just to get to play the game.

“It was very difficult to be out for so long.

“For me, it was about cracking on and trying to play as many games as I can.

“The gaffer and his staff were brilliant with me. They would keep in contact with me while being back at Brentford throughout my whole recovery.”
