Goalscorer Calum Kavanagh was delighted to help the Bantams to a third win in four matches yesterday, as they left Salford City with a 2-1 victory.

Kavanagh scored the first for City to draw Graham Alexander's men level on the stroke of half-time, his first goal in claret and amber away from the University of Bradford Stadium.

City made it four without loss after yesterday’s victory, a result which Kavanagh was very pleased with, having also got on the scoresheet.

“I am delighted,” he said after the game.

“It feels so good to help get the win for the boys. It has been a great day at the office.

“As a team, we knew we could be dangerous from set pieces.

“We have had four good results now. We want to continue this run and end the season well.”

Kavanagh discussed his fourth goal for the Bantams since arriving from Middlesbrough in January, and the subsequent acrobatic celebration.

He continued: “For my goal, obviously Richie [Smallwood] took the set-piece, then Matty [Platt] headed it down and I was there to tap it into the net.

“It is funny about the celebration, because I was actually going to do the Robbie Keane!

“But, I thought about it too late and I was getting too close to the walls, and I thought ‘I am running out of room, here’.

“Hopefully, I can keep scoring and can bring out a couple more of them.”
