Graham Alexander was pleased with the way his side went about their business and how professional their performance was in today's 1-0 victory over Gillingham.

City earned their second home win in a row as they completed the double over Gillingham at the University of Bradford Stadium.

Alexander was impressed with the way his "players stood up to the challenge".

“It was a tough and physical game out there,” he said.

“They changed their team around coming here.

“They had a couple of opportunities in the first half that we need to look at and see if we can do more with.

“The players stood up to the challenge. In the second half we were much better defensively.

“I thought there were some good professional performances out there today and I am delighted for the players.

“It is important to try and build on it.”

Brad Halliday made his 100th City appearance in today’s victory and capped it off by scoring the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time.

The Bantams boss was full of praise for the full-back, lauding his consistency.

“Brad is the consistency we are looking for,” he added.

“It was a fantastic strike. I was not aware it was his 100th game, but to put two seasons together where he has made a combined total of 100 appearances is the kind of consistency we need. He understands his job with the team.

“The strikers are important for our defensive shape, so it is good when other players can contribute with the goals.”
