ALEXANDER EYEING SUPPORTER PLEASING PERFORMANCE

Graham Alexander has called for his side to put on an encouraging performance for the City faithful, ahead of their clash with Gillingham this Saturday.

Following an Easter Weekend double header in which the Bantams came away with four points, Alexander wants his players to take the positives back to the University of Bradford Stadium this Saturday, and have pride in their showing to end the season strongly.

“We want to go out there and put on a performance for our supporters,” he said.

“The will to win and determination should never change. When you pull that shirt on, you are representing the club.

“It is important to always try. We have had a difficult spell, and we have climbed out of that.

“We want to put a good performance out and win the game. That mantra will never change from my side.

“Before the two games, after our four defeats, would we have taken four points? Possibly, but there are positives to take from both games.

“There are things we could have done better in the second game, but we did well to come back and equalise, finishing the game strong.”

The Bantams boss spoke on City’s appointment of David Sharpe, who arrives as the club's new head of football operations, believing it is a "positive appointment", and one in which he hopes can help yield success for the club.

Alexander understands that, at this stage of the season, many teams are fighting for points on a weekly basis, with Saturday’s game being no different. He wants to see his side use the momentum of their last home game on Good Friday, against the Gills this weekend.

He added: “It is a positive appointment (of Sharpe). We want to make Bradford City a better club.

“He is here to support me, the rest of the staff and many others. Ultimately, he is here to help improve us as football club.

“He brings a wealth of experience, and hopefully he can bring success to us in the future.

“We played (Gillingham) earlier on in the season, and we had a great victory down at their place. The challenge will be the same as previous weeks.

“They have changed their team, and changed their shape over the last few games, but they have good players.”
