Kevin McDonald has made nine changes for tonight's EFL Trophy clash with Grimsby Town at Blundell Park, starting himself in midfield.
City's caretaker player-manager lines up alongside captain Richie Smallwood, with Bobby Pointon the only other Bantam keeping his place from Saturday's victory over Swindon Town.
Colin Doyle will make his second City debut in goal, with Lewis Richards returning from injury to start in defence.
Academy product Freddy Jeffreys, 18, is named among the substitutes and could make his senior debut, as could Heath Richardson.
Noah Wadsworth, 18, and 17-year-old goalkeeper Zac Hadi have also travelled.
