Emmanuel Osadebe shared his delight at being back on the pitch yesterday, after returning from a seven-month layoff in City's 1-0 victory at Doncaster Rovers.

The Bantams' No.8 made his first appearance since suffering a double leg break in the reverse fixture against the same opponent on the opening day of the campaign.

Osadebe expressed his happiness at being on the pitch with his teammates once again, lauding the “amazing” support from a raucous, packed, 4,000-strong away end.

“It was an amazing feeling to be back out there with the boys, but the three points was always the main thing,” he said.

“I thought everyone did extremely well, and coped well during the tough times.

“It was a feeling I have not experienced before, but the fans have been great to me through my injury, and I want to repay them.

“The support has been amazing, especially on a personal level. It gave me a lot of drive to prove to them we are a good team - a team that can get promotion.”

Osadebe reflected on troubles surrounding his time on the sidelines, and thanked everyone at the club for supporting him during what proved a difficult period on a personal level.

City's summer signing cannot wait to get back involved and play regular football. Taking the substitute appearance as a “stepping stone”, he now eyes more minutes in the Bantams' upcoming trip to his former club, Gillingham, on Tuesday.

Osadebe added: “The first couple of days were tough, but I am grateful for all the support.

“From my family to the the physios, the gaffer and the fans, everyone has been supportive.

“It is a great environment. Everyone supports everyone - we all drive one another. We just want to win and play for one another.

“This felt like a stepping stone, even though it was only five minutes. I want to hit the ground running again.

“The boys have been amazing. To get back in the team is going to be extremely hard because everyone is doing really well.

“I am enjoying it. I just want to get back in the team and be back out there with the team.

“I would love to go back to Gillingham and pick up the three points. The games are coming thick and fast, week in, week out, which is amazing.”
