Ryan East is hoping for a spirited performance from the Bantams, when City travel to Stevenage tomorrow afternoon.
The Bantams' No.16 expects a resilient performance against high-flying Boro, and despite the huge task ahead of the Bantams, East insists promotion remains City's only aim.
The 24-year-old returned to the starting 11 for the first time since October last weekend, and was pleased with how his character and mentality was rewarded, and how that only makes him work harder for the team.
He said: “We were a bit disappointed in how we drew against Mansfield, but throughout the week, the spirit has still been there and we are focusing on Saturday.
“We are in a good position. The play-offs are in sight and promotion is more than achievable.
“We have a tough few fixtures coming up, but we are right back in contention if we can win.
“It is down to us. Promotion out of this division is in our hands, but we need to put a good run together.
“I really enjoyed last weekend and felt as though I did well. Considering I have been out for a while, and coming back in a huge game, I fared well.
“Playing in a slightly different role was new for me, but I was happy with my output.
“It is not always easy being out of the team, but you cannot let it get you down. You have to keep your head down and work hard.
“I did not know I was going to get the chance on Saturday, but because I have been working hard, I hope I continue to get more chances like that.
“It was nice to play and be recognised for my work off the pitch, so I am happy with what I got done.”
East broke down the direct threat that Saturday’s hosts possess, but maintained the stance that City have to stick to their tactical approach, and avoid “being dragged into their game”.
The former Swindon Town midfielder also expects City to be confident and composed in possession, something he believes they will need if they are to leave the Lamex Stadium with anything.
“It will be tough,” he added.
“They play very direct, so it will be a battle - very similar to Mansfield in a sense.
“Naturally, we will get drawn into changing tactically, but it is down to us to remain controlled and not let them affect us.
“They do not really play in the midfield much, whereas with us, it is about getting to the first ball.
“The game will become a lot harder if they drag us into their style, which only they know how to win with.
“It just takes the entire team to be confident in their play and impose a threat onto them.
“If we can be confident and composed, there is a high chance we will leave with something.”
