Scott Banks credited the Bantams’ belief and spirit, as they look to continue their unbeaten run when travelling to Rochdale on Saturday.

The Scot, who netted City’s opener in Easter Monday’s victory over Sutton United, is aware of the task at hand and encourages the Bantams to continue performing as they approach the final six matches of the season.

The winger appreciated how clinical his side was against the U’s, and with Saturday’s opponents fighting for every point at the bottom of the table, Banks warned City “have to focus on themselves”.

“We have all got belief,” he said.

“We have quality too - in abundance. We know we can achieve a lot this season. We have a bit of everything.

“When you see other players play well, you want to join in as well. There is a real positive energy at the moment.

“There is a lot of belief that we can promoted, but we need to perform.

“There are plenty of experience in the dressing room - there are players that have answers and it is valuable in terms of where we want to be by the end of the season.

“We have got to focus on ourselves on Saturday. We aim to be like that from now until the end of the season.

“We were clinical on Monday, and hopefully we can carry that on, and hopefully get to a point where we can open up Rochdale.

“You try not to look at the table, and it was pleasing on Monday when things go your way. No one showed nerves, in my opinion, against Sutton, and I want us to do it again.

“We have to do our job, and if we do, we will be where we want to be.”

The Crystal Palace loanee thanked City's “sensational” fanbase, as he reflected on his loan spell in West Yorkshire and how he, and his body, is getting used to the regularity of senior football.

The 21-year-old is looking forward to impressing over 3,000 City fans, who have once again sold-out their away allocation, and analysed how the support can frustrate the opposition, but also spur on the Bantams.

“It has been an up and down season, with my injuries, but overall I have loved every minute,” Banks added.

“First off, the fanbase is sensational. Playing with all the players we have here, has been an absolute joy.

“Physically and defensively, I am a better player.

“I am adding to my appearances, which is very good for me. It has been an all-round good experience.

“I have enjoyed it so much - there has been a few setbacks, but that is football.

“My body has got used to regular men’s football, and I love it!

“It is not going to be easy. We need our fans to be behind us at all times.

“Football is at its best when you have fans around us.

“Getting the numbers up in the crowd can frustrate the opposition, but mostly, it spurs us on.

“We are unbeaten away from home since Boxing Day, so we will have that confidence. We know what we can do.”
