Scott Banks was disappointed the Bantams “slipped up” in the latter stages of their 2-2 draw with Gillingham at the University of Bradford Stadium yesterday.
The Scot was left frustrated as City showed “good togetherness” to turn the game in their favour, but is now focused on bouncing back in the final three games of the season.
The 21-year-old described an “emotional” dressing room in the immediate aftermath of the encounter, and Banks - after “listening to everyone’s input” - knows City can learn from the experience.
“It is really disappointing - we know we have slipped up,” he said.
“We did not start very well but to turn it around how we did, it is frustrating to be denied of the three points.
“We had such good togetherness to get us into a winning position. This is about as disappointing as football gets.
“It just about reacting to the next game now, and learning from our mistakes.
“The word I would use is emotional. For it to finish like that, everyone is upset, because we thought we did enough to win.
“Everyone has said what they wanted to say in the dressing room, and we will listen to everyone’s input.
“We are all going to look back at the game and talk about what we can do better in certain situations.
“We have to prepare the best we can for another big game.”
The Crystal Palace loanee admits it is difficult to see positives following Oli Hawkins’ late equaliser, but acknowledged that he and his teammates can take pride from their attacking performance in the second period.
Banks insisted yesterday’s point does not end the Bantams’ promotion hopes, with his eyes now firmly set on next Saturday’s trip to second-placed Northampton Town.
Banks added: “It is hard to see the positives, but when we watch the game back, we will look at what we did well.
“We have to replicate that attacking performance in the second half - there were a lot of good parts to our game.
“To concede at the end is unacceptable, so positives aside, we know we have to improve.
“We knew we were not offering enough in the first period, and we all knew we had to go out there and improve.
“Northampton has always been a big game on the horizon.
“We have to go in with the same mindset as always - focused on winning.
“We absolutely have to aim of getting three points in every game, from now until the end of the season.”
