Mark Hughes admitted his Bantams should have done more in decisive areas to avoid this evening's 1-1 draw at home to Swindon Town.
Hughes believed his side “merited” more goals, and praised City's general performance at the University of Bradford Stadium, particularly in the first half.
He did however speak of his frustration at what felt like two dropped points, having conceded from a penalty in the final minute.
He said: “We were disappointed with the outcome tonight, especially with the ending. It was harsh on us.
“We need to be a little more clinical than we are at the minute. We are creating good opportunities which could have taken the game away from them.
“It was frustrating, because I really enjoyed the first half. I liked how we played.
“We played with real intensity and good control; they found it very difficult to press us.
“It could have been two or three tonight. We needed to be more penetrative with our play and pick the right pass. Our play merited more.
“We deserved more and it is unfortunate, because of the manner our performance. Some of our play was excellent.”
The Bantams boss credited the impact of his wide forwards Tyreik Wright and Dion Pereira, as the latter assisted the former for City's goal on 31 minutes.
Hughes insists the result will make the Bantams even more eager to return to winning ways at home in Sky Bet League Two against Crawley Town this weekend.
“It was a great performance from both players tonight, and I am very happy for Tyreik.
“I was very impressed with Dion’s performance. He contributed well to the side and had a number of chances.
“He is starting to show signs of his excellence again and that is good for him. His performance level was good, and I was pleased with what I saw.
“Tonight will make us more determined. I was happy with the attitude. We adapted well to how Swindon played.
“In the end, we succumbed to their pressure, and we need to make sure it does not happen against Crawley.”
