CRICHLOW CONFIDENT IN LESSONS LEARNT

Romoney Crichlow has called for he and his team-mates to continue playing with confidence, ahead of tomorrow's clash with Stockport County at the University of Bradford Stadium.

The defender insisted lessons had been learnt from Tuesday night’s Papa Johns Trophy point against Leicester City Under-21s, which came after the Bantams had taken a 2-0 lead.

Crichlow spoke highly of the team’s ability and style of play, while highlighting areas of focus which City must ensure they improve upon heading into Saturday.

He said: “Every game is a must win, and Saturday is no different. We have got to beat them, and we will only do that by playing our football and making sure we bounce back from Tuesday’s result.

“As a team, we are going into every game expecting to win, not due to arrogance but down to the confidence we all have in our ability.

“We know teams are going to come to Valley Parade and try to impose their style of play on us and get a result, but we are confident in the way we are playing.

“We are getting into our groove, finding our patterns of play and having a lot of trust in each other, but we do need to cut out the sloppiness at times.

“That is a bad trait we have identified. Sometimes we find ourselves a goal up and then sit back, which ultimately leads to allowing teams back into the game.

“For us, it is about realising we need to stop taking our foot off the gas and not become complacent when just having a one-goal advantage. We need to push for more and impose ourselves for the full 90 minutes.”

Crichlow also credited City's support, both home and away, ahead of what is set to be another bumper attendance in West Yorkshire.

Over 18,000 supporters are expected, including a healthy away following, and the Huddersfield Town loanee admitted it is up to the players to send them home happy.

“I am really looking forward to seeing our crowd again on Saturday,” he added.

“We bounce off their energy and they bounce off ours.

“We feel the supporters behind every kick of the ball, every block and every cross.

“It spurs us on and gives us that extra bit of energy.”
