ADAMS EAGER TO MAINTAIN FORM

27 January 2022

Derek Adams has called for his Bantams to continue their winning form - ahead of Saturday's visit of Crawley Town.

City’s midweek victory at Walsall means they have earned three wins from their last five fixtures, despite a heavy volume of away bouts.

Adams expressed his excitement to return to West Yorkshire for successive home games and in turn believes the backing of a home crowd can only help their positive run.

He said: “We have been one of the form teams in the division since the turn of the year.

“We are five points off the play-offs and eight points off the automatic spots, with a game in hand. We are in a very good position.

“We are now on a platform where we need to keep winning games, because that is the most important thing.

“We now come into a spell where we have two home games in quick succession which should benefit us. Being in front of our home supporters will help.”

The Bantams boss identified the threat Crawley pose to City ahead of the fixture, with the his side on the wrong end of the result when the teams met earlier in the season.

Adams insists Crawley’s style of play will make the fixture a good watch when they visit on Saturday.

He said: “Crawley are always a team that play without fear when they come to a bigger side in the division. They run at teams.

“It is one of those games that I expect to be back and forth. Crawley will attack straight away.

“We have to understand their threat and then get the better of them.

“When teams attack you, the opposition always leave space, and it is up to us to exploit it.”
