SONGO’O LOOKING FOR RESPONSE AGAINST ORIENT

1 February 2022

Yann Songo’o insists City must bounce back from the weekend’s defeat, when welcoming Leyton Orient this evening.

The Bantams will be aiming to win for the fourth time in seven outings when coming up against the East London outfit at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

Songo’o however admitted it is vital the team respond to Saturday's defeat against Crawley Town and return to winning ways.

He said: “We have to put the last game behind us and just focus on this one.

“We need to show more character and we are lucky enough that we have this game to make things right.

“We have to show that what happened at the weekend was just a one-off.

“We went through a few things in training and are really excited to get out on the pitch again, especially with being at home. We owe it to the supporters, ourselves, and the club.

“We know how important this game is for us, the club, and the fans.

“The fact we showed that we can be on top for 45/60 minutes, there is no reason why we cannot do that for a full 90 minutes, especially at home.

“Hopefully, we can get back on track and get three points.”

The midfielder also stressed how the Bantams must start killing games off when they are on top.

He feels, should City be able to improve their game management when in winning positions, they will be closer to where they want to be.

He added: “The only thing that has been missing is we just have not been killing teams off.

“The games where we have played really well and dominated, we just need that extra goal to get over the line.

“There are still things that we need to improve on, maybe managing the game a little bit better and that is down us to players.

“In football, you need a little bit of luck at times. Hopefully, we can make things right and go on a good run.”
