Scott Banks spoke of his delight in helping City record their first away win of the Sky Bet League Two season yesterday.

Banks opened the scoring in the first minute as a second-half double from Andy Cook saw the Bantams walk away from Hartlepool United with a 3-1 victory.

For Banks, the victory was made sweeter by defeat at Colchester United on Tuesday, as City returned to winning ways.

He said: "From the disappointment on Tuesday night, it made a good change to get the three points.

"We felt both of these were very winnable games, so we were delighted to get the win at Hartlepool.

"Every game I have been involved in, the supporters have been brilliant, and I am really enjoying my time here.

"The fans are getting behind me, so I cannot thank them enough. I am loving it."

The Crystal Palace loanee also discussed his pride at having opened his account in claret and amber, with a well-taken goal putting City on the front foot.

He is hoping to keep improving and impressing Mark Hughes in order to help the Bantams keep progressing as the season wears on.

He added: "I really enjoyed that one. I have been waiting for it, and put in some good performances and it has not come.

"I am delighted to get that first one out of the way, and hopefully there will be more.

"I am sure it is one I will remember for a while. It is my first goal here and it should hopefully just kick me on to scoring more now.

"The gaffer has put his trust in me from minute one since I walked through the door. I am performing well, and long may that continue.

"I want to keep getting better, scoring more and assisting more to help the team."
