BIG MATCH PREVIEW: COLCHESTER v CITY

17 April 2022

The Bantams will make the long trip to Essex on Easter Monday to face Colchester United in a 3.00pm Sky Bet League Two clash.

City will be looking to earn their first victory this month when they travel to the JobServe Community Stadium.

Positive performances against promotion contenders Northampton and Tranmere will give the Bantams confidence, heading into a clash with a team outside the top half.

The U’s have likewise enjoyed decent results against the high-flyers having beaten City’s Good Friday opponent just last month.

We have created a Big Match Preview to give you all the key details you need to know, heading into the encounter.

TEAM NEWS

City: Elliot Watt will serve his one-match suspension in Essex having collected a double booking on Good Friday.

Gareth Evans is in line to make his 600th senior career appearance at the JobServe Community Stadium, while Lee Angol will be pushing for a start after two substitute appearances.

Abo Eisa is edging closer to a return from a hamstring injury, and Levi Sutton could return from an abdominal problem which has kept him out ofn the past two games.

Colchester: Sam Hornby will not be available for selection against his parent club.

Dean Gerken, whose long-term injury caused Hornby’s signing, is also out.

Ryan Clampin will likely miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury picked up last year.
