GRAB A JAB TOMORROW - AT THE UTILITA ENERGY STADIUM

3 September 2021

Supporters will be able to grab a first or second dose of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine tomorrow (Saturday September 4) - ahead of the Bantams’ visit of Walsall.

Open from 1.30pm until kick-off (3.00pm) on Midland Road within the standard road closure in place on home matchdays, the pop-up vaccination centre will be open to anyone over the age of 18.

First doses of the vaccine are available, while those requiring a second dose must have allowed at least eight weeks to have passed since their first dose was received.

This pop-up centre comes as part of a relationship between Bradford City AFC, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Bradford District & Craven Community Vaccination Programme.

It is open to supporters, players, staff and residents living in the local area. Vaccinations will also be offered to those aged between 16 and 17 and three quarters, although they will only require a single dose.

Clinical staff will be on hand to answer questions, while those wishing to have their second jab are politely asked to bring their previous vaccine record, if they have it available.

PLEASE NOTE: Only doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be available, with no other type being administered.

Rukeya Miah, deputy associate director of nursing and senior midwife at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Bradford District & Craven Community Vaccination Programme, said: “These clinics offer supporters attending the match, club staff and local residents protection against COVID-19 and I hope as many as possible will attend and have their vaccine.

“It is really important to ensure that members of our public are safe at sporting events.

“Being able to offer the COVID-19 vaccination at this event enables us to make the most of opportunities to fight this virus, especially following the relaxation of restrictions including social distancing.”
