ADAMS UNDERSTANDS ROCHDALE THREAT

Derek Adams insists his side are aware of the threat Rochdale pose - ahead of Saturday's encounter.

City welcome The Dale to the Utilita Energy Stadium on Saturday, on the back of five league games without a victory.

The Bantams chief is familiar with Dale's style of play - and has issued his side with the challenge of exploiting its weaknesses.

He said: “We understand what Rochdale are trying to do. We have played teams who use a back three a number of times this season.

“We know the strengths of the system and we understand the weaknesses.

“They are a side which has transformed from last season to this season, and they try to play in a way which will get them into the play-offs.

“They have done the same as us: won three, drawn three and lost three this season, and they sit just above us in the table.”

Adams has backed his own managerial experience to aid City’s fight to get back to winning ways - likening the current challenge to his time with Plymouth Argyle.

The Bantams boss believes dips in form are part and parcel of football, though looks forward to the challenge of turning his side's fortunes around this weekend.

He added: “You get ups and downs all the time in football.

“You pick up injuries and you do not get results. As you gain experience, you handle things a lot better.

“I was brought into the club because I have that experience, and it is up to me to help the younger ones alongside me.

“The expectation level of the supporters is high, and it is always about winning the next match.”
