EISA READY FOR NORTHAMPTON CHALLENGE

19 November 2021

Returning Abo Eisa insists he and his City team-mates will be up for the test when they host Northampton Town in Sky Bet League Two tomorrow afternoon.

The 25-year-old will be hoping to make his long-awaited league debut for the Bantams, as well as playing his first competitive game at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

Eisa is expecting the team to be well prepared going into the encounter and is also eager for the opportunity to show what he can bring to the side.

He said: “It is another challenge, but we will be up for it. We have done well against the teams that are up there in the league.

“We have a good squad, create a lot of chances and play good football.

“It is just about putting the ball in the back of the net and, once that happens, things will change quickly.

“The atmosphere inside Valley Parade is honestly one of the best things I have seen and it will probably be the biggest crowd I have ever played in front of.

“I cannot wait to play in front of the supporters. I put high expectations on myself so, I will be gearing myself up.”

The winger is delighted to be back fit again after recovering from a couple of early-season injury setbacks.

Since signing for the Bantams in the summer, Eisa has only managed two competitive appearances for City, and is yet to make his full debut.

“I am feeling good,” he added.

“The main thing was just getting back to training and getting back amongst the squad.

“I have not played a single minute in the league, so it feels weird, but it is what it is and I just need to get on with it.

“I do not enjoy watching games because, as a player, you want to be competitive and help the team, so it is good to be back amongst it now.

“I do not usually get injured, so this is the first time I have been at a club and not really played any minutes.

“The other players were supportive and the physio team have done a great job with me.

“I feel as though my hamstring is back to normal so I just want to kick on now and get a run of games to show what I am about and what I can bring.”
