Sam Hornby admitted his frustration, following the Bantams’ 0-0 draw with Scunthorpe United in Sky Bet League Two.

Both teams failed to convert any of their goal-scoring opportunities at the Utilita Energy Stadium as the spoils were shared in City’s final home game of the campaign.

The former Port Vale goalkeeper was eager to mention his disappointment at the scoreline - and the fact his team failed to capitalise on the chances they had.

He said: “The result was certainly disappointing.

“We always aim to get three points, especially at home, but it was not the case in this one.

“We never took our chances on the day which ultimately cost us.

“Hopefully, we can now go to Morecambe next week and pick up a win to end our season on a high.”

Hornby did however confess his delight at keeping a clean sheet, as the Bantams recorded their first shutout in six matches.

The 26-year-old made a vital save late on in the contest to keep his side’s point intact.

He added: “Of course, it was great to have kept a clean sheet.

“I had a while out of the team, so coming back in and impressing is what will hopefully keep me as the No.1.

“Even though I am happy with a clean sheet, the main thing to take from the game was the result which, unfortunately, was not positive.”
