Summer signing Fiacre Kelleher claims he has felt the benefits of the Bantams’ four-day pre-season training trip to Scotland.

The 25-year-old defender recently joined the club on a two-year deal, in time to make the trip to the outskirts of Glasgow this week.

Kelleher has thoroughly enjoyed building relationships with his new team-mates and has been impressed with the variety of different training methods so far.

He said: “Overall, this trip has been extremely beneficial and enjoyable.

“The sessions have been really intense, and we have managed to get plenty of things done in such a short space of time.

“The biggest plus is with me being a recent addition to the squad. This has allowed me to get to know my new team-mates a lot more.

“Of course, the more we get to know each other, the bigger bond we will all grow, heading into the new season.”

The Irishman also confessed his excitement for the Bantams to begin their 2021/2022 Sky Bet League Two campaign.

City will play their first of eight pre-season friendlies when making the short trip to the Horsfall Stadium to take on Bradford (Park Avenue) on Tuesday (July 13, 7.30pm).

The centre-back added: “I cannot wait to start playing some matches.

“These upcoming friendlies will give us a good idea of the style of football we would like to play.

“At the end of the day, it is all about building confidence heading into the new season.

“Hopefully, we can gain positive results in pre-season and then take the momentum into our opening game in League Two.”

Kelleher will be sponsored by TL Dallas for the 2021/22 season.
