City boss Derek Adams was encouraged by another promising City display - after his side recorded a 2-0 pre-season victory over Sky Bet League One Doncaster Rovers.

A first-half penalty from new signing Abo Eisa and a composed second-half finish from Andy Cook proved enough for the Bantams to come out on top at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

Adams was pleased with a number of signs his team showed, in just their second pre-season fixture.

He said: “Of course, we are all delighted with another win.

“There were some very encouraging signs in terms of our play, how we pressed them, and the number of chances we created.

“The players put on a good show for the returning supporters, and we could have scored more than we did.

“Overall, this was a great team performance and all of our fit squad members were able to get more valuable game time which is another huge positive.”

Adams was also eager to mention how happy he was to see the supporters present at Valley Parade.

Over 1,000 supporters witnessed their new manager in the dugout for the first time at his new home, and he was humbled by the support.

Adams added: “It was fantastic to have the supporters back here in the stadium.

“Every football club has deeply missed them, and they make such a big difference when here.

“Them being present gave the players extra excitement and they really appreciated their support.

“Hopefully, with the way we played, it has given them encouragement going into the new season.”

City travel to Guiseley for their third pre-season friendly on Tuesday (July 20, 7.30pm). To purchase tickets for the encounter, please CLICK HERE
