THE PARADER: ISSUE 23

29 April 2021

Copies of The Parader: Issue 23 - dedicated to this year's annual memorial fixture - are now available to purchase online.

This issue will be dedicated to the club's annual memorial events which remember the Valley Parade Fire Disaster - close to 36 years ago - on 11th May 1985, and the 56 lives tragically lost.

The innovative creation will this season draw similarities between matchday programmes throughout City's past, following close conversations between the club, programme publisher Curtis Sport and lifelong Bantam John Dewhirst.

The 23rd instalment of the 2020/21 season, which will feature during Saturday's meeting with Scunthorpe United, is based on an issue against the same opponents during the 1981/82 campaign.

With each of this season's issues focussing on a different match, as far as possible against the corresponding opponent from the past, this production is sure to make up a unique piece of City history for supporters both young and old.

This week's issue features a Big Interview with Professor Ajay L Mahajan who is director of research at Bradford's Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit.

The unit was established shortly after the disaster to treat patients suffering from similar injuries, and Mahajan discusses the importance of this - over three decades on.

Usual columnists Dewhirst, David Markham, James Crickmore and Christian Oldcorn also contribute.

Joint manager Conor Sellars pens 'From The Dugout', while chief executive officer Ryan Sparks provides an update 'From The Top', with attention brought to various PSBRU fundraising initiatives throughout.

This thrilling concept will be posted straight to your door - for just £3, plus delivery - for the duration of the campaign, by Curtis Sport.

Issues will be available for every single Bradford City home game over the course of the coming campaign - including all matches to be held behind closed doors.
