Harry Pritchard is looking for the Bantams to build upon their positive start to the season - against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Trophy tomorrow evening (7.30pm).

The winger came off the bench to score the winner in City’s season opener against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

He believes tomorrow evening's clash will provide a good opportunity for other members of Stuart McCall's squad to get valuable match minutes.

He said: “The game on Tuesday will be a good chance for the players who did not get to feature against Bolton to have the opportunity to impress.

“Everyone is fighting fit and wanting to stake a claim in that starting 11 for the opening game of the league season against Colchester United."

Pritchard was encouraged by City’s performance against the Trotters in their season opener at the weekend, and is happy with the improvements he and his teammates have made since returning for pre-season.

“We thoroughly deserved the win at the weekend,” he added.

“We went toe-to-toe with Bolton - who will do well this season - and came out on top, which is always a positive.

“Whether it is a league or a cup competition, every team always wants to start the season by winning.”
