BIG MATCH PREVIEW: CRAWLEY v CITY

10 January 2020

The Bantams contest consecutive away fixtures tomorrow - travelling to Crawley Town.

Gary Bowyer's men look to extend their unbeaten run in Sky Bet League Two to nine matches in the 3.00pm contest.

John Yems' Red Devils currently sit 16th in the division, after a 19th-place finish last season.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview full of in-depth pre-match analysis - ahead of the encounter.

TEAM NEWS

City: Bantams boss Gary Bowyer could opt to start Sky Bet League Two top scorer Eoin Doyle against the Red Devils.

The prolific Irishman has netted 23 goals so far this season and was recalled from his loan spell at Swindon earlier this week.

Jamie Devitt is nearing match fitness, though Bowyer could still be waiting on the likes of Harry Pritchard and Kelvin Mellor.

Crawley: John Yems could field a similar 11 to the one which earned a point against high-flying Forest Green Rovers, last weekend.

Ricardo German will be again avilable for selection, after returning from a loan spell at Hemel Hempsted.

Young striker Brian Galach will not play, however, having joined Billericay Town on loan for a month.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID

Gary Bowyer: “It is important for us now to keep building the momentum we formed and keep this run going, beginning at Crawley.

“They have a good squad and a new manager in John Yems who has gone there and really put his stamp on them.

“We are looking to build on last week’s performance because we know, especially in the second half, we created a lot of chances and had lots of the possession."

LAST TIME OUT

The return fixture - earlier this season - saw the Bantams record their third-consecutive victory, with a 2-1 win over the Red Devils at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

Daniel Devine's first professional goal gave Gary Bowyer's men a two-goal advantage, before Crawley mustered a late consolation through Reece Grego-Cox.
