JOB VACANCY: FOUNDATION PHASE SUPPORT COACH

20 December 2020

The club is welcoming applications to join its ever-growing academy structure - with a part-time foundation phase support coach vacancy.

Working evenings, the successful candidate will be able to identify talent in the foundation development phase program.

In addition, they will provide individual training programmes for the players, maximising their potential towards being elite-level footballers.

Working alongside the head of coaching and full-time coaches, the ideal candidate will be responsible alongside the lead coaches for the playing, training and welfare of the players.

They will be required to be available for matches - over the weekends.

Strong communication lines will be built with the head of coaching, lead foundation phase coach, lead age group coaches and academy manager.

This post is aimed at individuals with the ability to inspire others, develop their skills and lead a group in a professional academy programme.

Bradford City Football Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people - and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Bradford City Football Club promotes inclusion and confronts and eliminates discrimination - whether by reason of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status or civil partnership, nationality, ethnicity (race), religion or belief, ability or disability, pregnancy and maternity and encourage equal opportunities. We welcome applications from all suitably-qualified persons.

DBS clearance, safeguarding and protecting children and first aid for sport are essential and the role requires the job holder to have a minimum level 3 sports coaching qualification. Ideally, this would be the UEFA B Licence qualification in football. Also desirable is a qualification at degree level in sports coaching and the FA Advanced Youth Award.

The EFL has introduced positive action measures aimed at tackling the under-representation of coaches and managers from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. New regulations require clubs to shortlist at least one suitably qualified BAME candidate (where an application has been received) for all roles in academy football that require a UEFA A or UEFA B License.

If you consider your ethnicity to fall within one of the following definitions - Black, Asian or other Minority Ethnic (i.e. from any other ethnic group that is not ‘White British’) - please inform us with your application.

To apply for the lead foundation phase role, please send your CV - along with completed copies of our application form and diversity monitoring form - to careers@bradfordcityfc.co.uk. Please also state your availability to start.

The deadline for all applications is Monday 4 January 2021.
