MATCHDAY GUIDE: CITY v NORTHAMPTON

7 September 2019

The Bantams are back on home soil, hosting Northampton Town at the Utilita Energy Stadium this afternoon.

We have compiled a handy Matchday Guide - packed full of helpful information ahead of the 3.00pm contest.

Firstly, we would like to extend a warm welcome to this afternoon's Big Match Sponsor, Cedar Court Hotel

PYROTECHNICS & BEHAVIOUR

The club would like to remind supporters the possession or use of pyrotechnics inside a football ground is strictly prohibited.

Those found to be carrying or using pyrotechnics will face a long-term ban.

We would like to remind supporters it is a criminal offence to enter the pitch at any time.

Anyone who does so without permission can expect to face prosecution.

WIN WITH ‘SHIRT OFF MY BACK’

Our popular matchday competition will be back in place for the opening match, giving supporters the opportunity to walk away with a top prize of either the man of the match-worn shirt or £100 in cash!

Not only will you win this unique prize (second prize £100 in cash) but you will also meet the man of the match after the game who will sign the shirt and present it to you.

Tickets for this competition can be bought for just £1 from sellers located inside and around the outside of the ground. The winner will be announced at half time.

OUR OPPONENTS

Northampton Town currently sit 17th in Sky Bet League Two, though recorded a 3-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle last Saturday.

Bantams fans will be familiar with the Cobblers in this division - after an emphatic 3-0 victory at Wembley in the League Two play-off final, back in 2013.

THE PARADER

Be sure to grab a copy of The Parader this afternoon, on sale for just £3 around the Utilita Energy Stadium.

The front cover of the Bantams' official matchday programme features the latest in a collection of illustrations by Bradford artist and City fan Rob Dunn.

Richard O’Donnell - who also features in 'The Big Interview' - is this week's cover star. He tells The Parader of his desires to extend his stay at the club and how goalkeeping coach John Vaughan has helped improve his game.

Other features include 'From The Top' with interim chief executive of the club - Julian Rhodes - and the popular 'Bantams Board'.

Meanwhile, there are returning columns from Aaron Bower, Jason McKeown, Mick Lamb, John Dewhirst, David Markham, Katie Whyatt and Mike Harrison.

THE CITY SHOP

The City Shop will be open from 10.00am until 3.00pm today to allow supporters another opportunity to get their hands on the Bantams’ 2019/20 home, away and third kits.

The new strips will be on sale along with City’s all-new training range!

WEATHER

Conditions are expected to remain dry this afternoon with sunny intervals, a gentle breeze and highs of 15°C.
