BIG MATCH PREVIEW: CITY v SHREWSBURY

18 November 2019

The Bantams go in hunt of a place in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup, tomorrow evening, at home to Shrewsbury Town (7.45pm).

The two sides have each contested a Leasing.com Trophy fixture since their meeting in Shropshire - a 1-1 draw - on Saturday November 9.

City are looking to reach the second round of the competition for the third consecutive season, in this replay, with their opponents having reached the same stage every year, since 2014.

We have compiled a Big Match Preview full of in-depth pre-match analysis - ahead of the encounter.

TEAM NEWS

City: Jake Reeves will be looking to make his second-consecutive start in claret and amber, having made his first appearance in almost 22 months in last week's game against Rochdale.

Shay McCartan is also looking for a return to Gary Bowyer's matchday squad, having missed the Bantams' last three matches with injury.

Matt Palmer and Jordan Gibson are 'recovering well' from their setbacks, according to Gary Bowyer, but are still unavailable.

Shrewsbury: The Shrews could have defenders Aaron Pierre and Omar Beckles available for selection, with the pair expected to be granted an early leave from international duty.

The pair helped guide Grenada to CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification last week, which led to their game against Doncaster Rovers, at the weekend, being postponed.

Skipper Ollie Norburn was also called up for the 'Spice Isle' though missed out on involvement through illness, making him a doubt for tomorrow night.

LAST TIME OUT

The first meeting - on Saturday November 9 - ended in a 1-1 draw.

City broke the deadlock - through Aramide Oteh - before being pegged back, before the interval.
