17 January 2019

The Club are delighted to announce that Bone Cancer Research Trust raised over £2600 in the New Year’s Day win over Accrington Stanley.

Following bucket collections throughout the Northern Commercials Stadium, the grand total raised by the charity came to £2656.73!

Every penny raised at the bucket collection will go to the charity, to help them fund the amazing work they do.

Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) are a small national charity dedicated to fighting a brutal disease – primary bone cancer.

The charity’s purpose is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by the disease. The is currently no cure for primary bone cancer, and survival rates haven’t improved for 30 years.

The charity raise vital awareness of the disease, so that people can be diagnosed sooner.

The charity fund pioneering research into new ways to diagnose and treat the disease. And for patients already diagnosed, they provide reliable information and a supportive community so that no-one feels alone or isolated.

Bradford City would like to thank fans for their generous donations in helping one of our fantastic charity partners.

Kirsty Evans, Community Fundraising Officer at BCRT said: “We were so incredibly overwhelmed by the support we received on the day from the staff at the Club and the Bradford City fans."

We would like to say a huge thank you for all their generous donations, which will fund our life-saving work."

We would also like to thank all the volunteers that helped with the bucket collection.

Some of our volunteers that were there on the day have lost loved ones to primary bone cancer and their ongoing support is always greatly appreciated.”

Another bucket collection will take place on Saturday February 9 when City host Fleetwood Town.
