David Ball has emphasised the “togetherness” of the City squad ahead of this afternoon’s game against Wycombe Wanderers.

Victory for the Bantams could take David Hopkin’s side as high as 17th in Sky Bet League One.

Ball, whose dramatic 96th-minute goal secured victory against Shrewsbury on Tuesday night, says the mood in camp could be key today.

He said: “After Shrewsbury, the feeling in the dressing room was the best it has been all season.

“It was an unbelievable feeling to score a goal like that in front of The Kop - in the last minute.

“I was buzzing for everybody involved, from the fans to every member of staff at the club.

“Those types of goals are the reasons you play football. You see what it means to everyone.

“The free kick they scored was a very good finish but the penalty was a real sucker punch for us.

“We dug ourselves out of it, as we did in the previous game.

“The draw at Burton and the victory over Shrewsbury showed the resilience we have as a group.”

Today’s opponents, Wycombe, sit ninth in the table and are unbeaten in their last four games.

Ball, however, feels the Bantams have the ability to overcome their Buckinghamshire opponents.

“We go to Wycombe knowing we can climb out of the relegation zone - with a good result,” he added.

“The last two games have given us great confidence and trust in each other. We can get something there.

“You can now see the togetherness of the team. We all want to do well for each other and we are fighting to keep this club in League One.

“We have to continue to execute the basics correctly, and when we do, we have shown we can compete.

“Mentally we are in a good place. We are looking up at who we can drag down into the relegation zone, whilst others are looking down rather than up.

“Hopefully we can now go on a good run, as we did over Christmas, and start to pick up plenty of points.”

Supporters can pay on the gate today, with admission priced at £22 (adults), £19 (seniors), £17 (young adults), £13 (juniors) and £2 (under-12s).
