City return to the Utilita Energy Stadium on Saturday, hosting Newport County in Sky Bet League Two (3.00pm)

The Exiles currently sit 11th in the table, having lost their previous three league outings. 

We have compiled an Opposition Guide, packed full of detailed information on tomorrow’s visitors...

SUMMER TRANSFER ACTIVITY

The Rodney Parade outfit spent the summer making 13 additions to their squad, with a further 8 heading the other way.

ONES TO WATCH

Ryan Haynes:

An attacking left-back, Haynes as etabloshed himself as one of County's most consistent operators, this season. 

The 24-year-old began his career at Coventry City and has also served spells at Cambridge United and Shrewsbury Town. 

Matthew Dolan:

City supporters will recognise former midfielder Matthew Dolan, who signed for Newport in 2017. 

The 26-year-old graduated through Middlesbrough's academy and has also turned out for Yeovil Town and Hartlepool United. 

Pádraig Amond: 

Prolific goalscorer Amond has cemented his place as an integral part of County's squad since signing in 2017. 

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international began his career at Shamrock Rovers and has also represented Accrington Stanley, Grimsby Town, Morecambe and Hartlepool United.

Dominic Poleon:

Another former Bantam now plying his trade in South Wales is Dom Poleon. 

A stiker, the 26-year-old bagged seven goals in West Yorkshire in the 2017/18 season and has also played for Oldham Athletic and Leeds United. 

THE MANAGER

Former Bantam Michael Flynn has held the helm at Newport since initially taking caretaker charge in 2017. 

The ex-City captain made over 100 appearances for the club between 2009 and 2012. 

The 39-year-old represented the likes of Wigan Athletic, Blackpool and Huddersfield Town in midfield, before beginning his player manager career in 2015. 

THE CAPTAIN

Midfielder Joss Labadie has been at the Exiles since signing from Dagenham and Redbridge in 2016. 

The 29-year-old carries a wealth of EFL experience, having represented the likes of Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers and Notts County. 

Labadie is a product of West Bromwich Albion's academy, where he began his professional career. 

LAST TIME OUT

In their previous fixture - on Tuesday - Newport advanced to the third round of the Leasing.com Trophy with a penalty-shoot-out victory over Brighton and Hove Albion Under-21s.
