CO-OWNERS ISSUE END OF SEASON MESSAGE

4 May 2018

Good evening to all of our supporters as we prepare for our final fixture of season 2017/18.

As the end of the season approaches and we reflect on the last year at Bradford City. It’s fair to say, that we are not in the position we were in last year. At the beginning of 2018, we had a terrible run, and none of us could answer as to why this happened. However, we have got to learn from it to prevent it from happening again in the future.

There will be changes over the summer, and we understand that fans need news in the next few weeks. We can tell you that we will be making improvements, both on and off the pitch. Something we’re all looking forward to is the pitch renovations, which will begin once the season is over. We are all keen to see what impact this will have next year.

After two years of ownership experience, we have seen two contrasting seasons of football. However, we have consistently seen the love and passion fans have for this club, and that is one of the things we all have in common.

Everyone plays a part in this football club, whether you’re a fan, sponsor, employee, staff or player.  We should all have the same goal, whatever is in the best interests of Bradford City. It’s all about Bradford City. We all should have the shared objective to make this club special and successful.

Even when times were hard your support kept us going. Whenever we see our fans at home or away games, it reminds us that we chose the right club, because our fan base is outstanding. We are not going to turn our backs on Bradford City just because we haven’t achieved instant success.

Right across the club, it hurts when we don’t achieve the level of success we all aim for. Many employees at the club are Bradford City fans themselves and we must thank all the staff for their hard work this season. When times were difficult, they remained positive and kept working hard with the club’s best interest at heart.

We would also like to send our best wishes to another one of our employees, Greg Abbott, after he was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. We support Greg and his family and we will welcome him back whenever he is fit to do so.

Not only are there fans amongst our employees, many of our sponsors are City fans too. We must offer a sincere “thank you" to all of our sponsors for their contributions this year and their continued support next season. We are looking forward to continuing and improving our work together.

We would also like to thank Stuart McCall. A man who dedicated himself to the club, both as a player and a manager. Stuart leaving his position as manager was hard but we wish him all of the best for the future.

Following the departure of Stuart, we welcomed Simon Grayson. Simon brought a different style of management to the club and lifted our morale at a crucial time in the season.

Finally, we would like to thank the fans. You stuck with us when things were difficult. You are the lifeblood of this club and we wouldn’t be where we currently are without your support. You motivate the players and the staff every day, so thank you for keeping us all going.

Next season will be a fresh start. You can expect improved performances from the club, on and off the pitch. We can’t wait to welcome you back to The Northern Commercials Stadium next season.

But for now, enjoy the last game of season 2017/18.
