The Bantams have strengthen their goalkeeping ranks by securing the services of experienced shot-stopper Richard O’Donnell.
O’Donnell has penned a two-year deal at the Northern Commercials Stadium after leaving Northampton Town on a free transfer.
The 29 year-old has moved to the Bantams from Northampton following a relegation clause in the goalkeeper’s Cobblers contract.
The deal, which is City's eighth signing of the summer, is subject to the usual EFL and FA clearances.
The 6’ 2’’ custodian featured 19 times for Northampton in League One last season after moving to the Sixfields Stadium back in January.
On top of his time at Northampton, O’Donnell has also played for Wigan Athletic and Walsall in City’s division in the past.
O’Donnell was particularly impressive during his two-year spell at Walsall, putting in a number of strong displays for the Saddlers.
The goalkeeper was named Walsall's Player of the Year at the end of the 2014/2015 campaign.
Along with this time in League One, O’Donnell’s recent career path has seen him feature in the Championship for both Bristol City and Rotherham United.
O’Donnell, who began his professional career at Sheffield Wednesday, has also played for Chesterfield.
Speaking about O'Donnell, Head of Recruitment Greg Abbott said: "We've been looking to get someone in to compete for the first team goalkeeper position, and Richard has a lot of experience and has played a lot of games at this level.
"His performances at Walsall (in League One) earned him a move to the Championship. We're hoping he can replicate that sort of form for us.
"At 29, he is at a good age for a 'keeper'."
"He is a great size - has a good presence - kicks well, and he will come for crosses.
"He is a really good lad as well, which obviously helps, and he is very eager to get started.
"He seems a bright character, and we are definitely looking forward to working with him."
