After winning the West Riding FA final in Halifax, Bradford Disability FC’s under 16s team, who are funded by the community foundations ‘short breaks’ programme, went through to the regional semi - finals at Manchester’s Power league central.
The group played in a league of seven teams, and finished third after winning four and losing two games.
They then played Heyside Juniors, a team from Manchester, who had previously won all six of their league games on the day. Bradford took a 1 0 lead and held on until Heyside juniors scored a last minute equaliser!
Bradford DFC held their nerve in the shoot-out though, winning 2 -1 to go through to the final against Shelly FC, from Huddersfield, who they had already beaten 3 - 1 earlier in the day!
Bradford DFC went 3-0 up in the first four minutes but Shelly FC fought back to make it a nervy 3-2 scoreline. The lads from Bradford DFC scored again, however, to eventually win the final 4-2.
Following their success, the players from BDFC will now go onto play in the national finals of the FA Peoples Cup at the end of April/beginning of May in Birmingham.
The eventual winners of that tournament will receive tickets to the FA Cup final at Wembley in May and a chance to lift their trophy there, with all the other winners, in front of 90,000 fans!.

Good Luck in the finals lads!!
