A selection of City's first team squad - including Shay McCartan and Paul Taylor - travelled to Wigan Athletic's training ground on Tuesday for a behind-closed-doors fixture with the Latics.
The rest of the group, however, stayed behind at Apperley Bridge for some work on the training pitch with City boss Stuart McCall.
Striker Charlie Wyke was able to join his team-mates for parts of training as he continues on the road to recovery from a recent hamstring injury.
