McCall's nomination is a fitting reward for the manager after guiding City to an unbeaten start to their league campaign.
Under McCall's leadership, City won three and drew two of their five league games in the opening month of the 2016/2017 campaign, moving the Bantams to second in the table.
Also shortlisted for the monthly award are Bolton Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson, Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh and Scunthorpe United's Graham Alexander.
The winner of the award will be confirmed on Friday (9 September).
