Doyle has received the nomination after helping Stuart McCall's side maintain their unbeaten start to the league campaign.
The Irish shot-stopper conceded just four goals in five games for the Bantams over the course of September.
Doyle has been shortlisted for the monthly award alongside former Bantams midfielder Josh Morris, now with Scunthorpe United, Bury striker James Vaughan and Northampton Town's Matt Taylor.
In terms of managerial nominations for League One, they have gone to Bury manager David Flitcroft, Rochdale boss Keith Hill, Sheffield United's Chris Wilder and Northampton chief Rob Page.
The winner of the awards will be announced this Friday (7 October 2016).
