The Cumbrians will be back in Bradford just a year after the two sides met in a pre-season friendly. Last summer, the game finished 2-0 with goals from Josh Morris and Gary Liddle ensuring a victory for Phil Parkinson's men.
United finished 10th in League One last season under the guidance of manager Keith Curle, and they racked up 67 points - finishing 8 points short of AFC Wimbledon who claimed the final play-off position.
Earlier in the week, Carlisle made a double signing with the arrival of both Jamie Devitt and Reggie Lambe from Morecambe and Mansfield Town respectively.
Devitt spent four months on loan at Bradford City from Hull City during the 2011-12 season, whilst Bermudian winger Lambe was an unsuccessful trialist with The Bantams ahead of the 2014-15 season.
Former City midfielder Jason Kennedy will also return for the second time since his switch to Brunton Park in May 2015.
The match will be played a week after City's previously announced pre-season friendly against Sean Dyche's Premier League new-boys, Burnley (Saturday 23rd July - 3.00pm Kick-Off at Valley Parade).
