LEAGUE 1 2014/15 SHAPING UP

4 May 2014

Following the end this weekend of the regular season in the Football League for another year, City now know nineteen of the teams they will be facing in Sky Bet League 1 in the 2014/2015 campaign.

A last-grasp goal from Birmingham City's Paul Caddis on Saturday saw Doncaster Rovers relegated back into League 1 for next season following a dramatic last day in the Championship.

Having already been relegated ahead of the final set of Championship fixtures, Yeovil Town and Barnsley will also join Doncaster in playing City in League 1 next season.

In the other direction, the trio of Chesterfield, Rochdale and Scunthorpe United were all promoted out of League 2 last weekend to ensure their names will be on City's 2014/2015 fixture list.

The other thirteen confirmed sides are made up from teams already in League 1 this season, including Crewe Alexandra and Notts County, who stayed up on the final day at Tranmere Rovers' expense.

The final four spots in League 1 for the 2014/2015 season will be taken up by the winners of the League 2 Play-Offs - one of Fleetwood Town, Burton Albion, Southend United or York City - and the three losing League 1 Play-Off participants.

This season's League 1 Play-Offs are being contested by Leyton Orient, Preston North End, Rotherham United and Peterborough United.
