F.A Cup Second Round
Bradford City 4 (Clarke 10, Stead 31, Morais 58, Yeates 59)
Dartford 1 (Noble 64)
Kick Off: 2.00pm
at the Coral Windows Stadium

Attendance: 5,373 (471 visitors)

The Bantams cruised into the F.A Cup third round with a comfortable victory over Vanarama Conference side Dartford.

Goals from Billy Clarke, Jon Stead, Filipe Morais and Mark Yeates capped off a professional performance from Phil Parkinson's men as they deservedly secured their spot in the third round draw for only the second time in eleven years.

On the same day that Worcester City and Chester upset the odds by gaining draws at League 1 clubs, City didn't have any such problems with their Kent-based visitors. Fresh from their goals against Leyton Orient last weekend, strikes from Clarke and Stead gave the Bantams a two-goal advantage at the interval.

Morais and Yeates then put the tie beyond Dartford with two well-taken efforts roughly within a minute of each other just before the hour mark.

With the tie just about won, Parkinson took over skipper Stephen Darby as a precaution due to a minor calf strain.

Much to the joy of their vocal 471 visitors, Dartford did pull a goal back in the 64th minute when Lee Noble flicked home from close range following Rory McAuley's low cross into the area.

Despite that minor disappointment for Parkinson's men, however, City were always at least a couple of steps up on their opponents as they saw out the remaining half an hour or so of their second round contest with relative ease.

Clarke's cross into the middle finds Morais, who himself then lays the ball back to Knott on the edge of the box. Knott fires for goal but the effort, not for the first time, is blocked by Elliot Bradbrook. Yeates fires for goal seconds later from outside the box but the effort is comfortably wide of the target.
35min: Darby sends the ball over into the middle and Clarke stretches up to reach the cross but his downward header is right at Brown from around six yards out.

31min: GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bradford City 2 Dartford 0 - Stead doubles City's lead when he stretches to connect with Yeates' low cut-back to place the ball low into Brown's far bottom corner.
30min:
Mark Yeates lines up a shot for goal from just outside the area but the effort is blocked sharply by Elliot Bradbrook. Seconds later, Stead fires the ball invitingly low across the six yard box and Mitchel-King has to stretch out a leg to divert the ball past his own far post.
