City hopeful over Ravenhill injury

19 March 2013

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson is hopeful that Ricky Ravenhill has only suffered a gashed shin after the midfielder was forced to limp off during Tuesday's win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Ravenhill was substituted in the second period of the Valley Parade victory after coming off second best in a 50-50 challenge for a loose ball with Wycombe midfielder Josh Scowen.

While the injury sounds a painful one, it is clear it could be worse for the midfielder, with Parkinson not ruling out the possibility of sending Ravenhill off for a precautionary x-ray just to see if the damage is actually more than a gashed shin.

Parkinson said: "At the moment it looks like a very badly gashed and swollen shin.

"There is the possibility of our physio taking him off to hospital for a precautionary x-ray.

"It didn't look good, but we'll just keep our fingers crossed."
