City boss Phil Parkinson has admitted that the Bantams have no one to blame but themselves for this Saturday's heavy defeat at the hands of Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United.
On City's first ever trip to the New York Stadium and in front of a large away following, Parkinson's men found themselves three goals down at only the halfway stage.
The Bantams would eventually go onto lose 4-0 against Steve Evans' Millers, with Parkinson quick to put his finger on why he felt City endured such a hard day at the office.
"We were too open today as a team," Parkinson said.
"We were too vulnerable to be counter-attacked upon. Defensively, we weren't strong enough either.
"It was certainly a lesson for us today. The two away wins we have picked up this season - Watford and Notts County - were built on good discipline from the lads and everyone doing there job.
"Today we were just too open, however.
"After we conceded the second goal, no-one really took responsibility to make sure we didn't concede a third.
"If we had of gone in only two down at half time then we may have had a chance. Obviously we did have a go in the second half, but three-nil is a mountain to climb.
"I will take responsibility for this defeat because I obviously picked the team today. I can't take all the responsibility, however, because that is the same side that beat Fleetwood Town.
"The Fleetwood match was a really tough game but we showed great discipline in that one.
"I do feel we have a good squad here but a result like today shows that we still have a lot of hard work to do.
"Today was definitely a step backwards. We now need to make sure we take a step forwards against Accrington next weekend."
On a day of very few positives for the Bantams, one bright spark from the club's trip to Rotherham was the fantastic support they received from a vocal travelling army.
Over 2,200 City fans turned up to fill the away end at Rotherham's brand new home, and Parkinson says he feels devastated that the Bantams couldn't muster up a result that their support had deserved.
The Bantams boss added: "I'm absolutely choked for the supporters today. They were terrific for us.
"Knowing the support that we were going to get, we played a team that we felt would be positive. We thought we could get a result today but obviously it was the wrong team because we didn't get anything.
"Our supporters were great and we owe them a result at Accrington."
