HUGHES DELIGHTED WITH THIRD-STRAIGHT AWAY WIN

Mark Hughes insisted the Bantams are still capable of more, after City picked up their third-straight away victory at Harrogate Town.

The Welshman praised the side's efficiency and individual quality, in a match where his men stretched their unbeaten record to seven in the Sky Bet League Two.

He said: “The result was exactly what we wanted. We did not play at our best today; we conceded too many unforced errors.

“Overall, the opposition did not cause us too many concerns. We got the win away from home and the three points, so I am happy.

“And, to do that without reaching the levels we know we are capable of, is pleasing.

“The bits of quality we have, of course, helped us today. When we play the right pass, at the right time, we create chances and score goals, and that is what we did today.

“It was great individual play from Harry Chapman to win us the penalty, and a great pass from Lee Angol to set up Tyreik. That was what we probably needed to show more often.”

Hughes lauded the mentality and determination of his side to come back and battle through adversity for the second-straight weekend, to take something from the game.

The Bantams boss was also pleased to secure a result at Wetherby Road, for the first time since Harrogate's promotion to the EFL.

“Our strong mentality goes without question, and was exactly what we wanted,” Hughes added.

“We are a team that does not want to go under, and we have had experience of that earlier in the season, so I am pleased with that aspect of that our game.

“We made it harder than it should have been today, so we can always look at it in detail and improve.

“We have not beaten them since they have come up, and it was mentioned in the build-up. We have changed that today.

“We are very pleased with the result and are going in the right direction, so I am more than happy.”
