AWAY DAY GUIDE: ROCHDALE v CITY

22 January 2022

The Bantams travel to Rochdale this afternoon, with a hefty away following of over 2,500 making the journey.

For those of you making the trip to Greater Manchester, we have created a handy Away Day Guide to give you all the information you need.

STADIUM ADDRESS

The Crown Oil Arena

Willbutts Lane

Rochdale

Lancashire

OL11 5DS

ABOUT THE GROUND

The Crown Oil Arena has been home to Rochdale AFC since opening in 1920.

With a capacity of 10,249 spectators, the stadium is also the home of Rochdale Hornets Rugby League Club and was one of the host grounds for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.

Following extensive rebuilding between 1992 and 2000, the ground is now fully seated in three corners with the Thwaites Beer Stand (Sandy Lane End) remaining a standing terrace.

TICKETS

A limited number of tickets will be available from the Crown Oil Arena this afternoon, from the tiket portakabin outside the away end.

Over 2,500 City supporters are already set to make the trip to Spotland, and will be seated in the Reside Estate Agency Stand.

Tickets will be available to purchase from 1.00pm. Collection of tickets purchased via City's official ticketing website will also be available from the same ticket portakabin outside the away end - from 1.00pm.

Given the high volume of tickets still uncollected, supporters are advised to collect these from the ticket portakabin as early as possible, to avoid congestion and delays which may lead to missing the start of the game.

There is no facility for telephone bookings, while ONLY cash payment will be accepted, with no card payment permitted.

PLEASE NOTE: Loyalty points for those who purchase tickets from Rochdale on matchday will not be allocated.

Admission prices are as follows:

Adults: £22

Seniors (65+): £17

Young person: £14

Junior (11-): £7

Both ambulant and wheelchair disabled supporters are charged the above age-appropriate rate for their tickets, with a carer to be admitted free of charge, should they provide proof of carer status or middle to higher band of disability.

CAR PARKING

Street parking is available around the stadium. However, please be aware parking restrictions - monitored by traffic control - are in place in the yellow-coned areas.

Parking is also available at a local high school around half a mile from the ground.

Parking prices at Oulderhill Community School, Greave Avenue, OL11 5EF begin at £3 for a day ticket.

ENTERTAINMENT AND REFRESHMENTS

To eat:

Popular fish and chip shop, Wilbutts Lane Chippy, is located to the north of the stadium, a short walk away.

To drink:

The Cemetery Hotel pub is located at the bottom of Sandy Lane, on the corner with Bury Road.

This comfortable, historic pub has a range of real ales on offer alongside a friendly welcome.

Inside the ground:

Visiting supporters are welcome in the club’s Ratcliffe Bars, open from 12.00pm.

The bar is a licensed premises - with beer and cider on draught - and shows Sky Sports television.

Kiosks within the concourse of the away end sell hot and cold food and drinks, including alcohol.

GETTING THERE

By car: The Crown Oil Arena is just over two miles from junction 20 of the M62.

Follow signs for Rochdale along the A627(M). At the first set of traffic lights, keep left - sign posted for Bury and Rochdale Town Centre.

Bunnings Warehouse will be on your right-hand side, follow this road until the next set of traffic lights.

Here you need to be in the second of four lanes, to head straight across (sign posted for Blackburn).

Follow this road (Roch Valley Way) until the next set of traffic lights, remaining in the left-hand lane.

At these traffic lights, go straight ahead on to Sandy Lane (the Cemetery Hotel pub should be on your right-hand side).

Continue along this road and the Stadium is on your right after approximately half a mile.

By rail: Rochdale train station, served by trains from Leeds and Manchester Victoria, is around 2.5 miles (45-minute walk) from the Crown Oil Arena.

Alternatively, the ground is around a 20-25-minute walk from Rochdale Town Centre.
