YOUNG BANTAMS IN BACK-TO-BACK WINS

21 September 2021

City’s under-19s secured back-to-back victories in the EFL Youth Alliance North East Division with a 3-1 triumph over Harrogate Town.

The Bantams netted three first-half goals against the Sulphurites which proved enough for them to collect the points at their Woodhouse Grove training base.

Martin Drury’s team took the lead when Louie Chorlton’s cross from the right-hand side picked out Cole Roberts who finished calmly inside the penalty area.

The visitors got back on level terms when a dangerous ball delivered across the six-yard box was bundled into the back of the net.

City soon regained their advantage when Olivier Sukiennicki’s corner was inadvertently headed into his own net by a Town defender.

The hosts added a third before the interval when Bobby Pointon played in Jack Wilson.

He slotted the ball beyond the goalkeeper, netting his second goal in his past two outings and ensuring the Bantams, after seeing out the second half, came away victorious.
