SELLARS LOOKING FORWARD TO ‘IMPORTANT’ SCUNTHORPE CLASH

8 January 2021

Conor Sellars insists the Bantams are looking forward to another important fixture - when visiting Scunthorpe United tomorrow.

The Bantams travel to the Sands Venue Stadium with the opportunity to rise to 15th in the Sky Bet League Two, in their first fixture of 2021.

Sellars insists he and the players have enjoyed vital time on the training field after an extended break in play, but is itching to return to the field.

He said: “We had a good start to the week and it has been important for us to build on what we have been doing.

“It was good for the players to get a couple of days worth of rest - where we would have had the Morecambe game - before we were able to put a bit more concentration into what we were doing on the training pitch.

“The attitude of the lads has been spot on, and we are looking forward to another important game on Saturday.

“We have been working a lot on the training field on things which will make us better.”

Despite not having contested a fixture since December 29, City’s joint-interim manager maintains his confidence ahead of his side’s clash with the Iron.

He has called for the Bantams to take all three points in order to continue the unbeaten streak which has been maintained since he and Mark Trueman took over in the dugout.

Sellars added: “It is a massive game which we are looking forward to, and wanting to remain unbeaten in.

“We are confident we can go there and get a result.

“We have to make sure the things we can control are under control - and do what we can to make sure we come back with the three points.”
