The Bantams will host Lincoln City in the second round of the Carabao Cup tomorrow evening, with the winner facing a third-round tie at home to Premier League champions Liverpool.

ONES TO WATCH

Alex Palmer

24-year-old goalkeeper Alex Palmer joined Lincoln City on loan from West Brom earlier this month.

The former England youth international was named man of the match in the Imps’ 2-0 victory over Oxford United in Sky Bet League One at the weekend.

Anthony Scully

Anthony Scully signed for the Imps in January from Premier League side West Ham United, where he was a regular for their under-23s side.

The Republic of Ireland youth international has contributed to five goals in his eight appearances for the Imps.

Harry Anderson

A Crawley Town youth product, Anderson joined Peterborough United in 2014 and made his first-team debut for the club a year later.

Following two successful loan spells, he signed permanently for the Imps in 2017 and has racked up 168 appearances for the Lincolnshire outfit.

THE MANAGER

Michael Appleton was appointed as Lincoln City manager in September 2019, replacing the parting Danny Cowley who left for Huddersfield Town.

In his last role as a manager, he achieved promotion to Sky Bet League One with Oxford United in his second season at the club.

As a player, Appleton came through Manchester United’s academy before making 154 appearances for Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion.

THE CAPTAIN

Liam Bridcutt started his career at Chelsea before spells with Brighton, Sunderland, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship.

The 31-year-old former Scotland international joined the Lincolnshire outfit in January 2020, and has made five competitive appearances for the Imps.

LAST TIME OUT

The Imps began their 2020/21 Sky Bet League One campaign with a 2-0 victory over Oxford United at the LNER Stadium.
