City boss Stuart McCall has stressed his side must put their game plan into action, ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League Two meeting with Stevenage (3.00pm).

The Boro head to the Utilita Energy Stadium following a strong start to the season, however McCall wants to build on the Bantams' hard-fought point at Forest Green and has believes his side is prepared to put in a positive performance.

He noted: "We always prepare meticulously and have been doing so all week. We need to go out on that pitch on Saturday and make sure we put everything we have been working on into action.

"If you take everything into consideration from last Saturday, there were pleasing signs. Forest Green are a good side and have a very strong home record.

"We obviously went down to nine men and showed tremendous courage as a side to keep the ball out until the final minute.

"As much as we were despondent and it was a disappointed dressing room, we had to remind the players about how much effort they put into the game.

"We want to build on our start to the season and put in a good performance on Saturday."

The Herfordshire outfit has proved busy during the summer, having brought in a total of 13 new players - including former Bantam Romain Vincelot.

McCall is already expecting a much different Stevenage side from the one which was beaten 3-1 in West Yorkshire, back in February.

The Bantams boss added: "Stevenage have had a good start to the season, with four points out of six in the league.

"I have a lot of respect for their manager, Alex Revell, who has done a good job since arriving there.

"They will certainly be in a good space and will be coming a lot different to how they did when we beat them last season, and they were struggling.

"They have a much-changed squad and a different manager, so we are expecting a completely different challenge."
