Stuart McCall is looking for more endeavour and desire from his players - ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup second-round visit of Lincoln City.

The Bantams boss was pleased with his side’s work rate in Saturday's draw against Colchester United, and is hoping for more of the same as the Imps visit the Utilita Energy Stadium this evening (7.00pm).

He said: “Hard work will never be doubted in our side, now.

“The endeavour and effort of our players will always be there, in every game.

“We will make a few changes for this evening’s cup tie and freshen up the side.

“We have a really strong squad and depth across the field.

“As a group, we are heading in the right direction but need to improve on the quality in certain areas."

McCall was impressed with his side's defensive resilience on Saturday, and hopes to build upon City’s positive start to the season.

"I thought we defended very well on Saturday,” he continued.

“We were really happy to have kept a clean sheet against a very strong Colchester outfit.

“Lincoln will bring challenges of their own and are a dangerous side.

“We have defended well since the start of the season and have conceded just one goal so far.

“We want to continue that momentum and build a strong foundation for success.”
