JOB VACANCY: LEAD FOUNDATION PHASE COACH

23 October 2020

The club is looking to appoint an inspiring full-time lead foundation phase coach to enhance its academy coaching programme.

Working with age groups from under-7s to under-12s, the successful candidate will run and develop the foundation phase of the club's academy, which will include managing and developing the coaches and players within the phase to maximise the potential of those they work with.

The role will also include identifying 'talent' in the foundation phase programme and providing individual training programmes for this talent - maximising their potential to become a professional footballer.

The coach will support the head of coaching and age-group coaches to make sure all the requirements of the club’s academy football players in relation to their playing, training, education and welfare throughout the foundation phase is met.

They will also be required to deliver coaching and matchday sessions for Bradford City Academy - aligned with the academy's philosophy and culture.

The successful candidate will conduct coaching sessions with the players at all levels of the academy and observe coach performance to provide feedback to aid development.

If you have the ability to inspire others to develop their skills and deliver football coaching to the highest standard - in order to produce elite footballing talent of the future - this is the position for you.

We are looking for an individual who is determined to succeed and who has a proven track record of sports coaching in elite learning or football development.

Bradford City is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The club promotes inclusion and confronts and eliminates discrimination - whether by reason of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status or civil partnership, nationality, ethnicity (race), religion or belief, ability or disability, pregnancy and maternity and encourage equal opportunities. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.

DBS clearance, safeguarding and protecting children and first aid for sport are essential, and the role requires the job holder to have a minimum level 3 sports coaching qualification.

Ideally, this would be the UEFA B Licence qualification in football and the FA Advanced Youth Award. Also desirable is a qualification at degree level in sports coaching.

The EFL has introduced positive action measures aimed at tackling the under-representation of coaches and managers from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds.

New regulations require clubs to shortlist at least one suitably-qualified BAME candidate (where an application has been received) for all roles in academy football that require a UEFA A or UEFA B License.

If you consider your ethnicity to fall within one of the following definitions - Black, Asian or other Minority Ethnic (i.e. from any other ethnic group that is not 'White British') - please inform us with your application.
